India has been quite a trouble maker as countries opt for solution regarding the nuclear weapon proliferation in China, India and Pakistan.
Countries including the P5 nations have been continuously surrendering to India’s demands going as far as letting go of the NPT(Non-Proliferation Treaty) for the time being and pushing India towards negotiating with Pakistan. India on the other hand has been reluctant to compromise. The delegate is insisting on all countries to ratify NPT. However, Pakistan believes that solving the Kashmir Conflict must be their first priority.
Moreover, the rash claims made by India accusing P5 nations for threatening the country by their nuclear power has caused disbelief among the member states. Furthermore, India pointed fingers at Pakistan and China regarding past relations and treaty, including the adverse impacts of the sino-Indian war and the Kargil war, instead of choosing to negotiate.
The current scenario has the member states exhausted by the adamant refusal of India to ratify the NPT. Why has India been delaying signing the NPT?Will this create more adversaries for India rather than allies in the UN grounds?
