Nazi Cabinet: Facing the Greater Enemy

-Vibhas Kadambari and Pranjal Adhikari

After the NAZI’s success over the region of the Caucasus, NAZI Germany gained full control over Sukhumi Tbilisi and Baku but lost the city of Batumi. But The NAZI’s still have the upper hand over the USSR. However, the cabinet faced a greater enemy, the city Stalingrad.

The debate continues to intensify as Ministers exchange ideas. All the previous strategies were not usable in the current scenario. Even though the Germans gained control over the Caucasus they have now lost their element of surprise. Major apprehensions for the cabinet are the industries. A few in cabinets stated they should bomb the industries while a few said the opposite. New strategies were introduced, while tactics such as Blitzkrieg remained. After using the resources in the Caucasus, the cabinet now has fewer forces at their disposal. The most important aspect for the military was speed. They must be swift, swift enough to take USSR unprepared.

As the discussion proceeded, the cabinet moved toward their major concern, the winter. NAZI’s were not well-known with such cold weather. Fighting in the winter would mean failure. Vehicle transport would also be difficult. The cabinet anticipated the idea of using railways, which seemed to be the most rational idea.  Taking over the three small cities shielding Stalingrad was introduced. Few ministers agreed and few disagreed. But the final verdict was to seize the cities.

The cabinet must come to an assessment quickly and secure Stalingrad. If things remain the way they are, Germany will face defeat.
