The Rato Bangala Model United Nations has made its niche as perhaps one of the most awaited annual MUN conferences in Nepal. With the impeccable preparations and undying effort put into planning this event, the entire school excitedly anticipates what new things the RBS MUN has to offer each year. Every year, RBS MUN hopes to do better, inspire better, and ultimately, be better. In a similar manner, a lot has been done to ensure that a significantly positive imprint is left behind by the RBS MUN 2018, not only in the terms of debate but also in what people take back from the conference.
Firstly, and most importantly, this year’s RBS MUN is truly focused on promoting environmental friendly habits. The resources provided to delegates including chits and folders will purely be made of recycled paper. Instead of providing plastic mineral water bottles to delegates, a jar of water will be placed in each floor along with cups; delegates are also free to carry along their own water bottles. RBS MUN 2018 aims to utilize minimum loose sheets of paper and urges the delegates to do the same. In the age of climate change and environmental degradation, the organizing team has shown their concern towards helping save the planet and that is exactly why you should join the cause and be a part of the exemplary green RBS MUN 2018.
Secondly, RBS MUN 2018 takes pride in the fact that international delegates travel hundreds of miles to come to our conference, resting assured that they will be greeted with warm hospitality and exciting debate. RBS MUN is a platform offering a mini global exposure to every single participating delegate, and not only does this add more insight to discussions but it also brings a small international family together to combat the hardships faced by the world and its people.
The thrill of committee debate in RBS MUN has no bounds. This year, the two new elaborate crisis committees – the Nazi Cabinet and Soviet Politburo will be dealing with the crises set at the invasion of the Soviet by the Nazis in 1941, recreating history once and for all. Similarly, two councils will try to convince judges to either prosecute someone or not prosecute them in the International Criminal Court. As a judge in the ICC, delegates will have the liberty to debate freely using their opinions rather than just plain research. Overall, RBS MUN 2018 has an exciting list of committees and interesting topics to be discussed in each. RBS MUN offers participants a chance to express their ideas, perspectives, and diplomacy, training them to become adroit public speakers and allowing them to delve into very intriguing subjects of discussion. Lastly, with a large number of the organizing team exposed to global and national MUN experiences, the RBS MUN 2018 guarantees more professionalism than ever before. The simulation is fully run by the students who are adept at their jobs and motivated to leave behind a solid mark in the RBS MUN history book. Hence, preparations began more than six months ago, and every little detail of the conference has been given major importance so as to ensure that only the best is provided to the delegates. All the resources have been cited and materials such as the study guides have been revised and edited to perfection by our meticulous press team. RBS MUN 2018 has also allowed for the display of students’ creativity through artistic do-it-yourself decoration projects that will adorn the school premises on the main three days.
Thus, to the Rato Bangala family, RBS MUN is not just simply a conference, it is a movement. With age and experience, RBS MUN has enhanced its future vision and expanded its giving capacity. We live for the three days when the buzz of debate and diplomacy ring through the committee rooms, when we get to come together with likeminded people who share a common love for global affairs and for the problems that undermine our ability to peacefully coexist in this world. Blood, sweat, and tears are poured into preparing for RBS MUN because all of us know of the impact it has had in our lives, and we can only hope that we are able to have the same impact on others.
